Six members of Elizabethton FFA Chapter attended the Tennessee State FFA Convention on March 24-27 with the club's faculty advisor Carrie Lykins. Students Brilee Culbert and Morgan Hyatt were awarded their State FFA Degrees, which is the highest achievement a member can receive. We are incredibly proud of their accomplishment, as only about 10 percent of FFA members will receive this degree.
In addition, student Cheyenne Bowers sang for state talent and captured the attention of more than 5,000 high school students, parents, and guests.
Students attended workshops on accepting failures and becoming agriculture professionals, as well as overcoming hardships to become effective leaders. They raced go carts, escaped from escape rooms, explored Gatlinburg and hiked to a waterfall.
Lykins said Elizabethton students were supportive of other chapters' accomplishments, created ways to achieve higher goals, and worked together as a team to help others.
